  It all is begging to crumble

  i've been mentally out for about two years now.

  i am in my 30s and i don't live at home, am not married or anything like that.

Anyway I had an argument with my "worldly" bf over the phone and I was upset so she caught me at a vulnerable moment and asked if I was sleeping with him. I admitted to it.

  What is wrong with this picture? You sound like a normal 30something female. What is wrong is the bizarro world the JW's try to live in. Stand up for yourself and don't let any JW jokers push you around or try to dictate your life. Welcome and good luck.

  so many of us now realise that the wtbs is a false religion.

  but for those who haven't left or been dad or dfd, how can you stay?

  ok, if you've lost your belief in god and are staying for family/friends etc, but, if you do want to preserve a relationship with your god, how can you stay knowing how he feels about false religion?

  Indeed. The Watchtower ideologically fits best with the Beast out of the Earth, not the Harlot. This is because they are a false prophet which is what the Beast out of the Earth is described as. "Two horns like a lamb, but preaches like a dragon."

  I doubt very seriously that the insignificant Watchtower Society has anything to do with any major character fullfilments of prophecy in the book of Revelation.

  Need advice from a female

  I took my GF to the gym with me, and WOW.....you should have seen the dirty look she was getting from a female instructor standing in the background that I would chit-chat with whenever I seen her in there. Yeah....I think these women are just being nice. LOL

  Anyone else in "limbo?"

  i've been out of the organization for about 4 years now, but have been in limbo since i've left.

  the more i learn about world religions, the less apt i am to accept anything as truth, since there are so many similarities between so many religions.

  i know many cultures have flood myths involving 40-ish days and 8 survivors (the chinese written language has many surprising allusions to biblical stories).

  I know it's been discussed before but do you think eventually they will have everyone partake of the emblems?

  At this point......if I was a JW at the Memorial, I would be very leary of the WTS all of a sudden telling me to to "drink the wine".

  I know it's been discussed before but do you think eventually they will have everyone partake of the emblems? It's really hard for me to picture that happening.

  I don't see how the WTS can at this point. It is suppose to be so close to the end, and for the WTS to change this key JW doctrine that has been in place for decades just seems like it would completely undermine the whole scam. Then again most JW's just accept anything expoused through the Watchtower without really thinking about it, so who knows with this cult.

  Has the GB ever explained how they receive "new light" from Jehovah?

  i remember a long time ago the explanation was that various anointed ones would write to the gb with the same new understanding of a teaching, the gb would investigate it, and if it was acceptable, they'd pass it on to the r&f.

  of course, now we have the new light that new light occurs only to the gb, not the anointed at large.

  so, if any anointed ones get new ideas, they're just apostates, right?.

  We were told at an elders school that they just discuss the ideas of the G B members. They kick it around, pick it to pieces, pray about it, then put it on ice for a while to avoid a hasty decision. After a bit they pull it out, discuss it and pray again.

  At my work, I am part of a Joint Leadership Team made up of heads from different disciplines. That's basically the way we come to decisions, minus the prayer part. Maybe I should recommend we incorporate Jehovah prayers in our decisions, then we can possibly be just as sucessful as the WTS Governing Body in business decisions.

  What argument do Witnesses use to justify shunning DA ones?

  i may be late on this, but i was just thinking yesterday about how witnesses justify shunning.

  mainly the scripture in 1 corinthians that says to stop mixing in company with anyone called a brother who engages in various sins.

  therefore if someone was to write a letter stating that they no longer wish to be known as a jehovahs witness, what justification do they use for shunning that person?

  Because the WTS is prohibited by secular law from putting DA'd ones to death like in the Old Testament. The WTS has pretty much said any DF, DA, Apostate one is deserving of death.

  Oh yeah......it's a bat-shit crazy cult.
